Tokyo to Nishi-Izu via Hakone
Day 1
Japan motorcycle tour ninjatours tokyo nishi izu lake ashi with clouds and blue sky
After a bit of easy street riding to get used to your motorcycle, you will be leaving Tokyo on a brief stretch of highway. First-timer to Japan, and can't read any Japanese traffic signs? No worries! We set up your navigation unit with a special set of waypoints that guide you out of the city in the easiest to understand way, using the least crowded roads.

Leaving Tokyo in the rear view mirror you will ride in a southern direction along the Tomei Express way towards the Izu Peninsula. Stop for a quick coffee at one of the expressway Service areas and continue on to Gotemba where you will ext the expressway and the fun riding begins.

The route takes you along the Ashinoko Skyline giving great views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashinoko then on to Hakone on the shores of Lake Ashinoko. After a brief stop to admire the view and take some photos the route travels along country roads across the peninsular to the western side where your will turn onto winding seaside roads along the coastline to your hotel at Toi.

There are many great photo spots along the route and time permitting stop at the Toi Goldmine which is well worth a visit.

Day 2
Nishi-Izu to Mt. Fuji
The most popular route for Today will have you riding along the Nishi Izu Skyline which winds along the mountains range offering some excellent viewing of Mt Fuji and the Izu Coastline and on towards Shuzenji.

Stop at the Daruma Mountain rest stop for great photo opportunities and continue on to Shuzenji, which is a famous onsen Village and worth a look. There are several routing options from here depending upon your desired intensity level. Continue on your preferred route which will take you along the most enjoyable roads to Mt. Fuji.

Ride the Fuji Evergreen line, the Subaru Line to the upper most accessible viewing station, ride the Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, visit the Narusawa Ice Caves or any of the many attractions before continuing to your hotel.

Mt. Fuji to Kiso
Day 3
japan motorcycle tours ninjatours mt fuji kiso tree lined road with mountain view
As you leave Mt Fuji and the Mountain lakes this morning the road will wind its way up into the mountains giving you some great farewell views of Fuji. A quick run down the highway past Lake Suwa and on to Ina will have you into the Kiso Mountain area and some fun roads.

Just to add a little spice to your ride ,my favorite route is along the old Ohira Hwy which is a fun very twisty winding road through the mountains, Alternate option available, and onto Tsumago Juku a working historic village tucked in the Kiso mountains. You can easily spend an hour or so wandering around here.

From Tsumagojuku it is an easy cruise along country roads past Mt. Ontake to your hotel.

Day 4
Kiso to Matsumoto
Some of my favorite cruising roads await today as the route winds it way past Mt.Ontake and into the Southern Alps towards Takayama. Scenery is great in almost any season and the roads are fun without being overly taxing.

Takayama is another famous Onsen town very popular for the Old Town area which is well worth a visit. Leaving Takayama you will be heading back into mountains, the roads are a fun ride and scenery very good. Continue on past the Famous Kami Kochi national park riding some great winding riverside roads towards Matsumoto.

Stop at Matsumoto Castle for some more sightseeing before heading to your Ryokan for the nights.

Day 5
Japan motorcycle tours ninjatours matsumoto tokyo parking area
Last day of riding will take you on a fun ride up to Misuzu Lake and the very twisty Utsukushigahara Skyline before turning onto the famous Venus Line and and Lake Suwa. This really is a great ride with sightseeing and photo spots a plenty. Leaving lake Suwa you will have a straight run down the Expressway past Mt. Fuji and back to our offices in Tokyo.
