Day 1

Meet us in our Tokyo office for a quick briefing in the afternoon, hit the 'Start' button on your completely pre-programmed navigation unit, and then head out on your own! Grab some dinner on the way to the ferry terminal in Tokyo Bay.

Ride your motorcycle on board, and you are off! Enjoy a beautiful sunset and get some rest- you are going to need it!

We have arranged for your own private room on the ferry to freshen up and get a good night's rest.

Day 2
Tokushima to Shikoku - Iya Valley
Your ferry will arrive at Tokushima the next day at about 13:30, from there you will ride up to Iya valley in the heart of the mountain range.

What starts out as any easy cruise up some lower valleys along the Anabuki river winds up into some spectacular scenery around Mt Tsurugi.

The road is excellent and the view on a nice day is outstanding. From there you carry on to Oku-Iya Nijo Kazurabashi Vine bridge which is an interesting place for a brief stop and on to your hotel in the beautiful Iya Valley. Approx time is 4 hours over 170kms.

Iya Valley to Tenyu Highlands Kochi
Day 3
Japan motorcycle tour ninjatours kyobashira pass on 2 bikes
A day in the mountains! Today's route is a big ride- distance is not great but it will probably challenge you. (A less challenging route is also available)

Leave your hotel and head up through Kyoubashira Touge pass and onto the road station at Musasabi no Sato for a quick coffee before heading up past the Nagasawa Dam and onto Ishizuchi Skyline to Omogo Gorge. Spectacular road.

From there on the course winds up to Shikoku Karst and the Tenyu Highlands for more great scenery and then on to your hotel.

Day 4
Tenyu Highlands Kochi to Dogo Onsen
Today's ride is a really nice ride which starts off with an interesting winding road down past Tsuga Dam and then on along the Shimanto river which is an easy cruising road past Chinka Bridge to Sukumo for early lunch.

From there you can enjoy a cruise along the coast line before a brief stretch of expressway and then on to a pretty ride along Hirota Gorge and your hotel at Dogo Onsen.

Dogo Onsen to Kyushu Aso Highlands
Day 5
Japan motorcycle tour ninjatours kyushu aso highlands
Today's ride includes a cruise along the coast to the Sadamisaki Melody Line to the Misaki Ferry Terminal. After a short hour and a half ferry trip, you will arrive at Saganoseki Ferry terminal in Kyushu refreshed and ready to ride.


From the Ferry you have an interesting ride along mountain roads to the famous Yamanari Highway which leads to Mt Aso.

Day 6
Mount Aso to Nagasaki
This is another Big day. The most difficult part of today's route is to decide which of the great roads to use. We choose the “Milk Road”, “Aso Panorama Line” and “Kenny Road” which was a favorite of the great Kenny Roberts. They are all great roads with unique scenery. Would love to spend an extra day! (yes, we can arrange it! Please let us know if you are interested!)

From there we travel down through Kamiamakusa to Amakusa and Shimatetsu Oniike Ferry Terminal for a very short trip to Kuchinotsu. From there is a nice ride up to Mount Unzen and your hotel on the lower slopes of the mountain.

Nagasaki to Karatsu
Day 7
Japan motorcycle tour ninjatours karatsu terraced rice fields
You have an interesting start to the day with a ride up Mt.Unzen, which is one of the many active volcanos in Japan , via Nita Pass. The roads are nice as is the scenery. Take a ride on the Unzen Ropeway if you feel inclined.

From there you will skirt the busy parts of Nagasaki city, visit the Nagasaki Peace Park if you wish, and then follow the Saikai coastline past Oshima Island, stop to view the terraced rice fields and on to Cape Hado area before arriving at your hotel in Karatsu. Visit Karatsu Castle if time permits.

Day 8
Kyushu - Karatsu to Kasadoshima
The day starts with a short relaxing ride along the coastal Sunset Line to Itoshima and then takes a short expressway trip to Amagi where we will exit and head along some quiet country roads to Mt. Hiko. Time permitting stop for a look at some of the beautiful Shrines and Temples dotted along this road..

From there you will follow the the river down Yamakuni valley to the coast and onto Taketazu Ferry Terminal. The Ferry ride to Tokuyama is 2 hours and from there, about a 20 minute ride to your hotel on Kasado Island which is famous for the beautiful sunsets.

Kasado Island to Hiroshima
Day 9

A very easy day today. A short ride to Hiroshima via the famous Kintai Bridge and then onto your hotel in Hiroshima.

Visit the Atomic Bomb Dome Memorial and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial or Miyajima Island and relax.

Day 10
Hiroshima to Tottori - Lake Togo
We are heading to the Sea of Japan coast today. The ride today starts with an Expressway ride to Oasa and back onto local roads to the Izumo Taisha shrine which is the most famous in Japan. Well worth a visit.

From there you will ride along Lake Shinji to Matsue Castle and onto the Oyama Loop Road which give some excellent viewing of the Japan Sea. Your hotel today is on Lake Togo and is a hot spring resort.

Tottori - Lake Togo to Maizuru, Sea of Japan
Day 11

No mountains today, we ride along the Sea of Japan coastline past the Tottori Sand Dunes and Uradome Coast to the Tamba Isaribi line. The roads are easy cruising miles and scenery is varied and interesting.

Continue on to the famous Historical Funaya Fisherman’s Village. There are some beautiful waterside cafes etc from which you can take in the atmosphere. From there it is a short ride to you hotel in Maizuru.

Day 12
Maizuru to Fukui
The route continues along the coastline through the Mitaka Goko (5 lakes) along Rainbow Line, and onward to Echizen which is famous for winter crab and the Kitamae Shipowners house Ukonie.

The ride is “easy cruising” today and there are plenty of photo spots along the route. Stop off at Tojinbo for a few minutes along the way and then onto your hotel which is only a few minutes away.

Fukui to Okuhida
Day 13

There is some great sightseeing on the route today. Firstly the ride travels along the famous Hakusan Shirakawago White Road. Next you will arrive at Shirakawago Historical Village which is well worth spending a little time for some great photos etc. Then onwards to Takayama another very popular place to while away an hour or two.

Your hotel is about 90 minutes from Takayama and is set is a beautiful onsen village. If you have time to spare take a trip to the nearby Shin Hotaka Ropeway which is highly recommended.

Day 14
Okuhida to Tokyo
Last day of riding will take you on a fun cruise down Nomugi Highway to Matsumoto and then onto the famous Venus Line and Lake Suwa.

From there you will have a straight run down the Expressway past Mt. Fuji and back to our offices in Tokyo.
