Tokyo to Kawamata Onsen
Day 1
Japan motorcycle tours ninjatours tokyo kawamata windy mountain road
Being your first day, the trip will start with an easy ride along the expressway before veering off onto a riverside road that continues into the foothills surrounding Nikko National Park. The roads are winding and scenic with few tighter places to keep your attention.

As you continue onward the road climbs and will lead you onto Iro Hazaka a famous winding road which leads to the beautiful mountain Lake Chuzenji. There are many lakeside restaurants etc at which you can take a break before heading into the mountains on a very twisty mountain road to your onsen hotel tucked away in the mountain at Kawamata onsen.

It's a very pretty secluded spot, and you will love it. Total distance is approx 240km and it will take 4.5-5hrs riding time.

Day 2
Kawamata Onsen to Aizu Higashiyama Onsen
The ride today starts with about 45km of tight winding mountain roads leading you to Yunishikawa onsen onwards along some easier cruising roads along the river towards Shiobara. Stop for a coffee break at a strategically located cafe and continue on to the Nasu Kogen Skyline which winds along the mountain side towards Mt Jeans. Stop for a quick lunch break at Nasu but not for too long as you still have a good way to travel. The roads are open and mostly easy cruising with just enough tight spots at first to keep your attention.

The route does become bit more challenging in places as you continue but road surfaces are good. Continue along uncrowded country roads following the Manago river past Lake Hatori, climb along Hatori Fukura line towards Nunobiki Plateau and continue on to your hotel at Nishiyama Onsen. There are plenty of tricky narrow bits along the way, also watch out for the wildlife which is plentiful.

The total Distance today is only about 240km but you will be tired at the end of it.

Aizu Higashiyama Onsen to Uonuma Onsen
Day 3
japan motorcycle tour ninjatours aizu uonuma onsen tree lined road
It's a big ride today, in fact it’s one of my favorite courses. The roads and scenery are constantly changing, when you least expect it you will find yourself on tight twisty roads through forest then suddenly emerge on open roads and rice fields. Take a brief stop at the rest area at Showa before following the course will soon lead you into the Oze national park. It’s a beautiful unspoiled area with very little traffic and great scenery The first sections of the route are easy cruising but that will change.

Stop at Aruza rest area which is the last chance for a cold drink and nature stop for quite a while. From Aruza the road starts to climb and becomes progressive tighter as it joins the Jukai Line heading for Oku Tadami lake. This is a seriously awesome ride, but is does keep going for a good long while. Watch out for the water splashes which appear from time to time , and try not to run off the road while staring at the view. The road surface is very good, its tight in places, challenging but quite manageable. Leaving the national park you continue on towards your hotel in Uonuma.

Total Distance today is about 260km But it will take at least 6hrs riding time and you will really enjoy a cold beer when you arrive.

Day 4
Uonuma Onsen to Tokyo
Last day today but it’s still a fun ride as you will ride along past Nozawa Onsen, up a great mountain road to Shiga Kogen Ski fields. A more extreme route is available for this section for those with lots of energy to spare.

Continue on past Yokoteyama Ski field stop at the road station at top the climb for some great view and photos. Proceed on past Manza Ski area and down the Manza Highway. From there the route heads to the last of the twisty challenging sections of your trip along Nidoage Toge and on to the expressway back to Tokyo.

Distance 320km and it will take approx. 5.5 hours riding time.
